Juried Art Show Rules
Dear Friends of the Arts,
We are pleased to announce the upcoming Juried art show as part of the 2017 Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food & Entertainment Festival. The festival will be a three-day event held on June 30th, July 1st, and July 2nd, 2017 . Accepted Artwork will be on display at the beautiful and historic Trefoil Lodge in Ewing Park during the three-day event that attracts over 20,000 visitors each year. This is a great opportunity for you to display your talent in art for many to view.
We are also looking for qualified judge(s) to be a Judge and Juror for the 2017 art show. If you are interested please contact the chairperson, Raylene Boots.
We currently are in the planning stages of this year’s art show and welcome artist and others who have knoweldge and expertise in the arts to help us make this another successful show for the 2017 festival. Last year there were three categories for pieces to be entered in: 2D works (drawings and paintings), 3D works (sculpture and ceramics) and photography. Cash awards and Ribbons will be given for the Best of Show, one Distinguished Award in each category, (total of 3) and one Merit Award in each category (total of 3). This is for ages 16 and up.
Last year we started two new categories one for under the age of 10, and one from the ages of 11 to 15. One ribbon will be given in each of these categories. Please see special guidelines for these categories. The show will also accept entries, except photography, using a JPEG format. There is a special entry form for this, if you wish to submit your work this way please contact us and you will be emailed an entry form.
A photo session will be held for all those receiving awards to be publicized in the area newspapers.
As in the past years care will be taken in handling the Artwork. However, the festival committee cannot be responsible for any accidental damage that may occur. Security officers will be on duty throughout the Festival period and a show attendant will be on hand during the show hours.
Please pass this onto friends whom we have not contacted.
